If you are looking for a masala entertainer; this indie film isn't for you. For lovers of the artsy, here's the green signal. Cross over.

Chaurahen falters in its narrative leaving too many unanswered questions in the cinegoers mind.

This is a film so rich in unstated relevances that you wonder why dialogues for cinema were ever invented. Or why cinema for that matter, was invented if not to take us into places of the heart that are barred in Bollywood.

Chaurahen brims with tortured souls, pensive silences, meaningful looks and meals left unfinished. Not surprisingly, it’s a slog of a film.

For a film about characters at the crossroads of their lives, this one leaves you lost for directions.

Beautiful in one word describes CHAURAHEN. Literally translated, it means crossroads and Rajshree Ojha depicts how it could even be a couple, almost 25 years into their marriage, at the Crossroads, not necessarily (as it is generally perceived) teenagers.

DNA India
Indie cinema junkies will devour Chaurahen but those who enjoy a good Bollywood entertainer will be left high and dry.

The Hinglish format of the flick trims down the chance of a larger audience goung for it. Lack of a strong story to support the cast is another reason one should keep away from the ticket window. Even actors like Soha and Zeenat fail to leave an impact. It can only be tolerated by their fans, who can endure anything to watch them on-screen!
